For bookkeepers & cleanup / catch-up accountants

The safe way to clean up
QuickBooks in bulk.

Search across every transaction type at once, then bulk-delete or bulk-edit memos, classes, customers, projects and payees. Every destructive change is protected by an automatic backup, an undo window, and a full audit log — so you can fix messy books fast without crossing your fingers.

See it in action

Watch a real cleanup, start to finish.

A 90-second screen capture of Ledgermend running against a live QuickBooks sandbox — no narration needed. Here's the whole story in three beats:

  1. 1 Search every transaction type at once
  2. 2 Safely bulk-edit memos — backed up & logged
  3. 3 Safely bulk-delete — with one-click undo
A real cleanup, start to finish: search, bulk-fix, and safe delete with one-click undo — every action backed up and logged.
The problem

QuickBooks Online makes bulk cleanup slow, risky, or impossible.

Anyone who has untangled a messy client file knows the drill: hundreds of transactions, one painful click at a time, with no safety net if something goes wrong.

No real bulk-delete

A double-imported bank feed drops 400 duplicate transactions into the register. QBO won't let you delete most transaction types in bulk — so you're stuck opening and voiding each one by hand.

Can't bulk-edit the fields that matter

Need to fix the memo, payee, customer or project across a month of entries? There's no bulk edit for those fields. Month-end cleanup turns into an afternoon of repetitive typing.

Reclassify is paywalled

The reclassify tool that would let you move transactions in bulk is locked behind the pricey Advanced and Accountant tiers — out of reach for most SMBs and a recurring cost for firms.

Search can't find it all

QBO search is weak and siloed by transaction type. Tracking down every entry tied to a duplicate import or a mis-mapped rule means hunting across registers and reports one at a time.

Messy memos & classes pile up

Imported feeds and rushed data entry leave inconsistent memos, missing classes, and wrong customers everywhere — and no fast, safe way to standardize them at scale.

One wrong move, no undo

The few bulk actions that do exist have no backup and no undo. On a client's live books, a single mistake can mean hours of rebuilding — or worse, touching a closed period.

How it works

Clean up a client file in three steps.

No spreadsheets, no scripts, no copy-paste. Just search, select, and safely fix.

  1. 1

    Search

Search across all transaction types at once — invoices, bills, expenses, deposits, journal entries and more — with filters for date, amount, account, payee, memo, class and customer. Find every entry that needs attention in seconds.

  2. 2

    Select

Review the matches in one clean list and select exactly what you want to change — a handful of duplicates or several hundred rows. Preview the impact before anything touches the books.

  3. 3

    Safely fix or delete

Bulk-delete the junk, or bulk-edit memo, class, customer, project or payee in one pass. Ledgermend backs everything up first and keeps an undo window open — so a big cleanup is a confident click, not a gamble.

Why it's safe

The bulk-editing tools you know, minus the dread.

Other tools can bulk-edit QuickBooks too — but they treat safety as an afterthought. Ledgermend builds four guardrails around every destructive action, because these are someone's books.

Automatic backup before changes

Before a single transaction is touched, Ledgermend snapshots the affected records. If anything looks off, you have a clean point to restore from — no scrambling, no guesswork.

Undo window

Made a bulk change you want to take back? Reverse the entire operation within the undo window — every edit or deletion rolled back together, exactly as it was.

Full, exportable audit log

Every action is recorded — who changed what, when, and the before-and-after values. Export the log for your workpapers, a client review, or your own peace of mind.

Closed-period guards

Ledgermend respects your QuickBooks closing date. Transactions in a closed period are flagged and blocked from bulk changes by default, so reconciled and filed work stays untouched.
